If you are in New York, chances are you have heard about the crusades of Mayor Michael Bloomberg against Styrofoam. He is considering a way to outlaw the use of all Styrofoam packaging in favor of more earth friendly packaging.
It doesn’t seem like this would be a particularly hard fight, especially if you are like us and the thought of touching Styrofoam is like running fingernails down a chalkboard.
“Steve Russell, vice president of the American Chemistry Council, a trade group, said recycling polystyrene was something to look at instead of a ban.
“The technology exists to recycle polystyrene foam food service right now,” he said, pointing to efforts in California.”
We do have to agree that recycling might be a little less shocking to the economy than an outright ban. What do you think?
