FAQs
Due to regulations and limitations of the residential system, hazardous waste, medical waste and heavy materials such as concrete and dirt cannot be serviced
Please do not put dirt, rock, concrete or sod in the containers. It is too heavy, and could damage our equipment. Other prohibited items include flammable materials such as oil, gas, and paint or hot ashes and coals; hazardous and toxic waste, septic tank waste, unbagged animal waste or explosive and radioactive materials; automotive products including motor oil, tires, and batteries; metal and debris from construction, remodeling, or demolition projects.
Sometimes in extremely cold weather plastic cans can harden over night and crack when the truck grabs them. Just notify your city, and a new can will be delivered to you as soon as possible.
Sometimes frozen garbage can get stuck in the bottom of the can during winter, and grass clippings can get stuck in the hot summer. If you are able to dislodge the materials that are stuck, give Ace a call to dump the rest of your can, and we will pickup as soon as possible.
If you put out your recycling or garbage container following the can placement procedures, and it is missed, please call ACE Disposal at 801-363-9995. A customer response member will ask you your pickup day and record your address for the earliest possible pickup.
Please call your city to sign up for new service, recycling service, or an extra can. Your new can will be delivered as soon as possible.
What Others Are Saying
I had an awesome Random Act of Kindness today! I overslept this morning, drifting back to sleep. I heard the garbage man go by and jumped up to run out and take my forgotten bins to the street. I didn't actually see him, but it looked like he had gone down my side of the street. So I ran all 4 big bins to the opposite side of the street then watched out the door to make sure all went well. When he got to my house he stopped, got out of his truck and started moving them back to my side. When I went out to help, he had them done and told me he had already gone to the opposite side. As any mom's know, a missed garbage day is a big deal! I really appreciated him going that extra mile not only to notice but stop and help me correct it! - Annette Axford
To the driver of the ACE Disposal truck #453, you deserve a high five smile emoticon. My son and I witnessed him walk up the driveway of an elderly man, pull both of his garbage cans down for him, dump them, and then went and put them back. My son said Garbage Truck drivers don't get enough credit, he sees them do things like that all the time. So, thanks for all you guys do! - Debra Anderton
I am a police officer for SLC. I just wanted to thank one of your drivers. He moved a large rock that was blocking traffic for us at 3755 W California Ave this morning. He saved us a lot of time and help countless people get to work on time. He was a stand up guy and I didn't get to say thanks.
Jeanie H. resident of Bountiful called. She said that her neighbors recycle can was blocked today, and she watched the driver get out of his truck, moved the can out, dumped it, and put it back. She said it was great and knew he didn't have to do that but, was happy the driver went above and beyond exceptions and wanted us to know about it.
