Arbor Day Story Writing Contest: Highland City will sponsor the annual Arbor Day Story Writing Contest for Highland fourth graders, culminating in an assembly at each school elementary school in Highland which includes a visit from Smokey Bear, planting a tree, and announcing the top three winners at each school with some fun prizes. This project is organized by an Eagle Scout each year.

Arbor Day Planting Projects: Come celebrate Highland City being a Tree City USA by helping the Tree Commission plant trees on Arbor Day. Join us on Saturday, April 30 at 8:00 a.m. on North County Blvd (south side of SR 92/ 4800 W). Volunteers are asked to bring shovels, rakes, and water buckets. Scouts, schools, sports teams, families, etc. are encouraged to help out. If you are able to help out, please emailemily@highlandcity.org and include the number of volunteers that will be attending the tree planting.
