The Waste Cycle

1. You Throw It Away

2. We Pick It Up

3. It Goes to the Transfer Station

Garbage is dumped at the recycling “Transfer Station”, which is a large building created to package garbage so haulers don't have to travel long distances to landfills. Metro's facility will separate recyclables before the garbage is baled. This means customers will be able to dump all trash scrap metals, cardboard, paper, and wood in one trash receptacle for recycling.

4. It Gets Sorted Into Bails

A State-of-the-Art baler packages the garbage and recyclables into bricks for easy transport. Recyclables are shipped to a recycling facility, and excess garbage is sent to the balefill.

5. The Bails Get Transported

6. The End of the Road

The balefill is entirey dug out and double lined to help reduce leakage. Then garbage bricks are stacked to fill in the hole, and revegetated once the hole is filled. The balefill accepts residential, commercial, and construction waste. It does not accept hazardous waste.
